When Catcalling Skips You: The Awkward Silence That Hurts Even More
Have you ever found yourself in one of those awkward, unintentionally funny situations? I was just walking down the street when the woman in front of me got aggressively catcalled. I instantly hated it—because not only is catcalling gross and disrespectful, but I also happened to be right behind her.
My immediate thought? “Great… I’m next.”
But then, as I walked by, there was nothing but silence. Not a word. Not even a look.
And honestly? That hurt even more.
It’s one of those funny yet strangely relatable moments where you don’t know whether to laugh at the ridiculousness of the situation or feel slightly offended that you weren’t “worthy” of the same unwanted attention.
Life has a way of throwing these little ironic curveballs at us, and sometimes, the best thing to do is just laugh and share the story.
